Word From Fred - Clarifying Membership Rules

Well, what a hullabaloo!  There seems to have been a lot of concern, frustration, confusion and tantrums just recently (all brought about by a cheeky poke from me of course), so I thought it was about time I put the record straight!

Just recently a number of soft toys have been allowed into The Bear Club as members - something of a small oversight on my part, because of course we've always been a club for teddy bears.  Now, that's not to say we don't welcome other soft toys on here within the blogs of these bears - after all, we do take the view that we're all equal in every respect and we love to see and hear about what these soft toys are up to, but we just happen to be a club for bears!  We have absolutely nothing against Barbie Dolls or toy tractors either, and if any teddy bear wishes to upload pictures of them within a blog, then super-smashing-great!

So, what to do about the few soft toy members that are now part of TBC?  Well, first and foremost we want them to stay a part of our wonderful Club!  We could say that we'd let them stay as they are but not let any future soft toys join as members, but of course this would be utterly unfair and would result in cries of "but that duck's a member, why can't my chicken be too??!!" to which we'd have to reply "I've got a headache and I don't think it's because my pants are too tight". 

So, this is what's going to happen...

Any soft toy (or doll or digger for that matter) that wishes to either continue as - or become a member of - The Bear Club, must do so as a friend of a teddy bear.  In other words, the member must be a bear, and that bear can upload as many photos and stories about his/her toy friends as he/she wishes!

Those few soft toys that have already joined have been advised to add a bear to their profile, that way preserving all of the blogs and photos that have been uploaded so far (and we get to hear all about a new addition to their clan too!).

Problem solved.  I'm going to change into some looser pants now and take a little nap.
